Fun Run 2026
Fun Run Info
We are just a few days away from our 2026 Fun Run, our schoolwide fundraiser designed to bring our students, families, and entire school community together around one important goal. While fundraising is an important part of the Fun Run, our goal is also 100% student participation. Every student can make a difference, whether they raise $5 or $500.
This year, our Fun Run has a very specific purpose. Rather than simply raising money for a general school fund, we are Raising the Bar to restore our elevator that has been out of service for over eight years.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why is the elevator the focus of this year’s Fun Run?
Our elevator near the main stairs has been out of service for approximately eight years. It provides access to our main gym, which is used for Masses, concerts, performances, athletics, assemblies, and many other school events. Restoring it will make this important space more accessible to our entire SJC community.
Why does this matter?
This is about more than an elevator. It is about making sure students, parents, grandparents, staff, guests, and anyone who cannot comfortably use the stairs can fully participate in life at SJC.
Why does it need to be addressed now?
The Illinois State Fire Marshal has notified us that we must either repair and restore the elevator or officially decommission it. We can no longer simply leave it out of service.
Will students be part of the project?
Absolutely! Once restored, students will have opportunities to leave their mark with pictures, handprints, and other special additions around the elevator. The family that raises the most money will also have the restored elevator named in their honor!
How much will it cost?
- Approximately $125,000 to officially decommission the elevator
- Approximately $200,000 to repair and restore it
Our goal is to restore the existing elevator, and this year’s $200,000 Fun Run goal is specifically tied to that project.
Does my child need to raise a certain amount to participate?
No! There is no minimum donation. Even a $5 donation counts toward student participation.
Our overall goal is $200,000 and to reach it we have suggested $200 per student or $500 per family but there is NO MINIMUM in order to participate.
